Face to Face Marketing Doesn’t Work. I kow your saying, “My upline told me to talk to my family and friends.” Well folks I’ve been in this industry for over 17 years and have had limited succes pitching my opportunity to family and friends.Usually your upline will begin by telling you to mak a list of 100 people you know. They will probably supply you with a memory jogger. A memory jogger has a list of different proffesions on it to help you think of people you can pitch your busines to. Then your upline will instuct you to call your list and set up a appointment to meet with th prospect on your list. When calling your prospect, your upline will provide you a script. The script usually requires you to be vague about why you want to meet with them. Ever wonder why? I’ll tell you why. Because most people do not want to go into a business, let alone network marketing. Most people don’t believe in network marketing. You need to target people that believe in network marketing. That is Why Face to Face Marketing doesn’t work.
Now from your prospect list you will need to meet with about 10 to 15 people a day. Statistics show that 97% will turn down your opportunity. So out of every 100 people you talk to you may get 3 people to come aboard to your company. Statistics show that 97% of network marketers fail within one year. So of the 3 people you recruited you will probably only have one left after one year. To build a nice residual income you will have to continue to meet with 10 to 15 people everyday for around 5 years. Then comes the problem, where do you get more leads? This cycle sounds like “Burnout” to me.
When you run out of leads, what do you do? Your upline may encourage you to buy leads. When you buy leads you will find that most of the names are outdated or months old. Buying leads requires “Cold Calling”. I have done it and I did not do well with it. My very exisistance has been threatened over the phone! It is funny now but it wasn’t at the time.
By now you are saying, “John, this doesn’t sound very positive.” I admit I haven’t painted much of a colorful picture. This is why you need to begin embracing the internet as a lead generating system. The internet has an inexhaustable supply of leads. Leads that are looking for your opportunity. Leads that are looking for an mlm opportunity.
So you are asking, “How doI get leads to contact me?” One of the first things you have to do is change how you think about your business. You need to market yourself. Market “You Incorporated” People join people. they don’t join businesses. People don’t want to be sold. You need to quit pushing your business out in front. You should be pushing YOU out in front. You need to quit doing what everyone else on your team or in your company is doing. I gaurantee that they are pushing the company, how long the company has been around and product benefits. You need to postition yourself as a leader, a go to person. People are attracted to leaders. This is called Attraction Marketing.
You need to leverage the Internet to build your business on the back end. What I mean by the back end is, people will find you as a leader and develop a relationship with you. Then when they see you as the person with the answers, they will join whatever business you want them to. Attraction Marketing works. I know from first hand experience. Attraction Marketing has changed my life and financial future.
