Want to Impove Your Business?: Turn off the TV.

Turn off your TV. How much time do you spend watching TV? The facts on watching TV will be alarming. One year ago my wife and I decided to turn off the TV. I mean not only turn off the TV we disconnected service so we could not be tempted to watch the TV.
Here are Ten Financial Reasons to Turn off you TV:
CABLE/SATELITTE BILLS: We used to pay around $80.00 a month for this service. $960.00 a year just to get more programming. Three years of that and we could take a nice vacation.
ELECTRICITY: Our two TVs consumed about 1 killowat hour a day. That is about $40.00 a year out the window.
COMMERCIALS: Those mini programs designed to sell you stuff and ideas, period. Often intergrated with programs to complete the psychological effect they desire. One commercial is not effective but when you are inundated with commercials, they are very effective. Not to mention the effect flicker rate has on your grey matter. The subliminal, milisecond flashes of products that your subconscience will pick up but your conscience brain is not aware of.
NOT MUCH TIME FOR PRODUCTIVE ACTIVITIES: The average American watches up to four hours of TV a day. What if you used those four hours to market yourself on the internet, write a blog, call some prospects, read a book about Attraction Marketing , get my point?
STRESS: When we spend our time disconnecting through TV, we don’t interact with the family, we may put off paying bills. After time these stressors build up and put us into a depressed state, which begins to effect every facet of your lives.
POOR EATING HABITS: We won’t take the time to prepare a wholesome home cooked meal, instead opting for a pre-packaged meal or ordering take out, so we can catch up on our TV shows. This distresses our wallets and increases our waistlines.
POOR HEALTH: TV watching has been linked to obesity. Watching TV requires no physical activity. It also requires no mental activity. The TV will think for you, give you opinions on subjects that you have no idea how or why you formed those opinions.
NON COMMUNICATION: With the TV on it becomes very hard for us to talk to the people close to us. Over time less communication equals failed relationships. We are in the relationship building business, so wouldn’t we want to maximize our relationship building time?
GUILT: Commercials and programs often create images of fabulous lifestyles, far outside the financial capabilities of the viewer. The viewer then reflects on their own lifestyle, which can create negative feelings about thier place in life.
SEX: For married couples, it is a great excersize, intimacy builder and best of all it is free. With TV in the bedroom sometimes we just fall asleep watching a program and never get to the intimate part. Take the Television out of the bedroom.
