Get a Shiatsu massage followed by a Watsu aquatic water therapy session and I have literally SEEN my fears melt away…of course they return over time and I need more healing.

    Thanks for the insights John.

No truer words have ever been spoken. One of my mentors calls the mind the Drunk Monkey. Imagine what would happen if you let a drunk monkey go in your office!! Well, that is what happens when you allow your mind to run amuck. Our minds were made to help us survive, the only problem is that we are not in danger. However, our mind feels the need to create that danger as if it were protecting us. So, the trick is to be aware that our mind is doing this, once you see that it is not an actual danger you will start having a conversation with your mind. Knowing that your mind is a creator of much suffering (don't be mad at your mind, it is doing the best it can, it just does not know when to stop) causes a shift in understanding and opens the source of healing. When you are at that point you are on a path of freedom from those fears.
    Happy Trails,

    Kathy,
I like the drunk monkey analogy. Our minds can go to the extremes even when there are no extremes.

    Hey John,

Your right about starving your fear and nourishing your courage. I had to definitely take on my fears head on and once I did, I realized that it wasn't so bad.

But your right on about recognizing the fear first.

    Cool post,

    John,

Bravo man…way to address the issue of fear. So many people have fears – rational or irrational.

I think some people have fears of specific things due to control. We as humans want to control things, and when we realize that God is the one who we should be submitting certain fears over to them, then we can start to decrease those fears knowing that the burden is on the shoulders of our creator instead of us. That is a recent roadblock that I have found to start chipping away at.

    God Bless You,

    Linus

    Linus,
You are correct. We need to lift up our burdens to the Lord. I believe most of us know this but it is hard, as a human, not to worry and leave it in his hands. Thanks for the blessing and God bless you!

Fear is one of the biggest things that will hold an entrepreneur back from achieving their goals. Great way to beat to the killer.

    Hey John,
Interesting post. I agree that fear is what keeps most people from succeeding in life and that most fears are actually irrational.

From my experience, when most people confront their fears, as you suggest, that find that their fear was much bigger than the actual challenge. Once they challenged the fear, they found that their fear had kept them from enjoying the good part of life.

Excellent post. Keep up the good work.

    To Your Continued Success,
    Bill

    Hey John,

This is a great post! Everyone has some type of fear and not conquering those fears is one of the biggest things that holds people back from achieving what they truly want out of life. You must face your fears.

P.S. Just a quick tip…I'd recommend making your font bigger if that's possible. You have a dark background and it's tough to read with this font size.

Fear is the anticipation of physical or emotional pain in the future – brought into and experienced in the present. One way to be “fearless” is to simply focus on being present (rather than concerned about what may or may not happen in the future). Whether fear is acknowledged or ignored, it is only in the present that we can act (in because or in spite of fear).
