It was the end of the Bush era regime and I was starting to watch the debates for the upcoming election. I am ashamed to say that in all my 42 years I never have shown much interest in politics and how they effect our everyday lives. I am now 44.
Well, during these debates I kept hearing about this Congressman from Texas, Ron Paul. As I would listen to the debates everything he said made complete sense to me. After most of his statements he would receive applause and the moderators would have to ask the audience to please refrain from applauding.
Ron Paul would always talk about our document, The Constitution Of The United States. I knew about this document from Civics class in high school but really gave it no consideration. I did understand that it was supposed to protect us from tyrannical government so I had no fears of living under tyranny. I always said that tyranny could not happen in the United States.
As I watched more and more of theses debates both left and right, I noticed that none of the other candidates, left and right, emphasized the importance of considering our founding document, when they would vote on new bills. I began to see that both left and right actually carried the same agenda but with different rhetoric.
I began to study our recent past, surveying the agendas and projects of both the left and right. Example: I have found that if the right would pass a new law, the left would put up many arguments in opposition. Then when the left would come into power the law would not be repealed, maybe some minor changes but the law would continue, regardless if it violates our Constitution. This observation works both ways. So needless to say I am not happy with the left or right.
It has become my hobby to read House and Senate bills. This can be an arduous task at times and it also takes some time to research the terminology and legalese of these documents. Some documents I have been working on for months, some of these bills are over 1000 pages.
I’m not saying this is something that everyone must do but if you would take the time to read some of them, your eyes will be wide open. Start small. If you see something on the news, that interests you, look up the bill behind the story. Here is an example: S 510 The Food Safety Modernization Act. They always give these bills Orwellian names. When you read this bill you will find that it will regulate everything down to what kind of vegetables you will grow in YOUR own backyard garden. I won’t go into detail, I will let you discover the tyranny hidden in this bill for yourself.
I created a NewsPortal to help busy people find out how Washington is doing the “end run around” of our Constitution.
