This will be a first in a series.
Is your upline asking you to pitch all your friends and family? Are they asking you to take a piece of paper and write down a list of every person you know? Have they given you a memerory jogger? A piece of paper that list many jobs and serices that will help you think of people you can put on your list?
If your upline is asking you to do this chances are they are extremely old school marketers or just newbies to MLM. There is nothing wrong with old school techniques, like cold calling, speaking to friends and family. The truth is these techniques are very hard to apply. A major problem with speaking to family and friends is sometimes you can lose friends in the process. I have experienced this first hand, but since I have applied Attraction Marketing I no longer have to chase my family and friends.
Now that I have learned how to Brand myself, and shown success, my family and friends now ask me what I am doing. ChaChing now they want to be in my business!
Friend and family are the wrong people to pitch your MLM business to. Most of your family and friends are comfortable with where they are. Most do not believe in network marketing or deisre to go out and build a MLM business.
Once you have exhausted your list of people, which will probably take you a month or two, then where will your leads come from? Our business is about lead generation. If you don’t have leads or prospects you don’t have a business.
After you have no one to talk to about your MLM business, your upline will probably ask you to purchase leads online or ask you to go prospecting at shopping malls, cold calling, three foot rule ect…
When you market offline you only have so much reach. You can only pitch people in your city or area. If you want to be doing this business into the long term you need to be able to pitch to an inexhaustable pool of people.
What is the solution. YOU need to be embracing the internet. You need to be marketing yourself on the internet.
What are the advantages of marketing online?
First of all you get to keep all your family and friends.
Second you will be able to target your audience. You will be able to target people that believe in the concept of Network Marketing.
Third you will have a truley international business. You will not only be marketing to your city or town but you will be able to market all around the world within seconds. How many people can you show your business plan to in one day? Maybe five? Using the internet you can show your plan to over 1,000,000 people in a single day. That is called leveraging!
